Venetian and Murano glass beads are one in the same. The beads, now made in
Murano, were originally made and sold in a square in Venice as Venetian glass
beads. Eventually, the furnaces in Venice were relocated to the island of Murano,
just off the coast of Italy. Since Venice is a more familiar name than Murano, the
name “Venetian Glass” has remained.
Murano glass is made with Moretti cane glass and enhanced with 24kt. gold, white
gold & .925 sterling silver foils.
