Girl Scout Badge Workshops

Girl Scout Badges - Workshops for the jewelry badge.
Legacy Beads would like to introduce you and your Girl Scouts to the world of beading and assist Juniors, Cadettes & Seniors in
obtaining requirements for their Jewelry making badges. Brownies will earn the Hobbies Try It. Daisies will complete an activity that
will allow them to earn the center blue spot of the Daisy apron. Our workshops are geared towards each age level in difficulty and
are full of hands-on fun. The girls quickly get involved in the badge activities making jewelry and having discussions directly
related to the badge requirements.
Your workshop will be conducted in our classroom and flow from one activity to the next, keeping the girls busy. Directions will be
given and one-on-one attention will be given to those girls needing additional help. However, if you have a girl in your troop that
you know has gross/fine motor skills or attention issues, please ask an adult to come to the workshop to work specifically with the
girl. Remember the Safety Wise requirements for adult/girl ration for your troop's age level. The younger the girls are, the more
adults you will need, however, ultimately, it is the goal of the workshop to have the younger girls do as much of the work
themselves. The adults are only there in case the girls run into problems doing the activities. (Even though I am a registered Girl
Scout, I cannot be considered your second adult, as I am a stranger to the girls. In the event that a girl needs your attention, your
second adult will then be "in charge" of the troop until you return. I can be your third adult, if the need arises.)
Legacy Beads is conveniently located on the Lowell train T line, and a short walk from the Wilmington stop. We encourage all
troops, located on public transportation, to consider our workshop. If you check through your badge book, you may find that other
badges requirement can be done by having your troop plan the trip.
My name is Nancy Miceli and I am a registered Adult in the Girl Scouts of Eastern MA (formerly Patriots’ Trail) Council. In the past, I
have been a leader at the Junior, Cadette and Senior levels. I was also the Girl Scout city coordinator in Woburn, MA from
September 2002–June 2005. I love working with girls of all ages and invite any and all troops to visit our store. Not only do we offer
badge workshops, but also “Mom and Me” & “Dad and Me” activities to suit your Troop’s needs. We can accommodate up to 18
members of your troop at one sitting.
Please contact Legacy Beads, at 978-694-1600, for availability of dates.

Take a picture of your troop at our workshop and send us the picture.
We'll add it to this page.
